Welcome to Summer Session 2010!

This Year the best educational programme for professional jazz musicians will be held at Vallekilde in Sjælland, Denmark from the 8.-15. of august.
We are extremely proud of the team of teachers we’ve handpicked for you: Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez
and Airto! - All living legends, virtuosos and leading educators. Additionally, we have Gomez and Airto in the
machine-room as well. Sizzling!
Tony Scheer, Ambrose Akinmusire, Joey Calderazzo and Steve Coleman are all young talents and in their
own way, each is a vital power house for improvised music today.

DANISH JAZZ IN PARIS - LE JAZZ DANOIS

The new duo constellation pianist Jakob Anderskov and saxophonist Benjamin Koppel will be performing in Paris in November at the Danish Jazz mini festival Le Jazz Danois along with Caroline Henderson, Hans Ulrik Quintet and Danish/french duo Pasborg/Ducret.
The festival is a cooperation between the Danish House in Paris and JazzDanmark. The concert plan is:
Hans Ulrik Quintet: November 19th at 9 pm
Stefan Pasborg / Marc Ducret: November 20th at 9 pm
Benjamin Koppel / Jakob Anderskov: November 21st at 9pm
Caroline Henderson: November 22nd at 9 pm

Copenhagen Improv Festival 2009

Copenhagen Improv Festival is the name of a new festival, that focus on free improvised music. It´s the club "Huset" that arranges this event the 23rd and 24th of october 2009.
The festival features some of the biggest international and Danish names in improvisation. Among those are John Butcher & John Edwards, TOOT, Jakob Anderskov in a solo concert, Andrea Parkins and many more. This is a unique possibility for getting to know a genre, that is not always in the spotlight.

Danish jazz in the new EU countries

In September 2009 Danish jazz paid a visit to central Europe for the first time on a major tour.

Danish Jazz is in an era of sparkling creativity and high quality. Among some of the best artist, three have been chosen for this tour between the 8th and 13th of September: Lotte Anker, Hans Ulrik and Sinne Eeg.They represent three different directions in modern jazz. The 3 artists played in various clubs and venues in Budapest, Bratislava, Praque, Piestany and Nyirbator.

Danish Music Awards Jazz 2009

The young talents dominated the Danish Music Awards 2009.
It was especially the younger generation of jazz musicians, that could return with a prize statue from this years jazz awardshow. Among the winners were Sinne Eeg, Jonas Westergaard and the band Grammofunch. The awardshow, which is a collaboration between JazzDenmark, Denmarks Radio P2 and IFPI, were a meating between new talents and experienced jazzgiants.

Ibrahim Electric visit Asia in october

The Danish jazz trio Ibrahim Electric begin their Asian tour in october 2009. The trio is one of the most renowned bands on the danish jazz scene, and they are known for their energetic and dynamic live performances.

The Asian tour will take them to Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul, with several TV performances on their way. They will also play at the famous Jarasum Internatianal Jazz Festival in Korea, a festival that will also feature the danish jazz singer Sinne Eeg.
